The land for the hall was given to the village in 1909 by Mrs Luttrell of Yew Tree Farm and £200 was collected from the villagers for the building of the new reading room. Since then it has been well used by many organisations and today we have various clubs who use the hall regularly including the W.I. – Rainbows – Brownies – Gardening Club – Whist and Keep Fit for 50 plus, Yoga and Zumba.  It is a popular venue for parties, particularly for children from the local school.
